40 [a]And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this [froward] generation.
41 [b]Then they that gladly received his word, were baptized, and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand souls.
42 [c]And they continued in the Apostles’ doctrine, and [d]fellowship, and [e]breaking of bread, and prayers.
